Introduction
This is a brief guide on how to reset your password if you have forgotten it.
You will need to have multi-factor authentication set up first (Click here for a guide), so we encourage you to do that when you know your password so you can use it should you ever forget your login details.
If you do not have multi-factor authentication & have forgotten your password, please contact the IT Service Desk.
Steps
1. Go to https://portal.office.com & enter your college username@kentcollege.co.uk, the click “Next”
2. On the next page, click “Forgotten my password”
3. Fill in your username@kentcollege.co.uk if not already filled in & enter the characters in the picture, then click “Next”
4. Select "Answer my security questions", answer three of your questions, then select "Next"
5. Select your second verification step, this will either be “Approve a notification on my authenticator app” or "Send a text to my mobile number".
a) The preferred method is “Approve a notification on my authenticator app”. Click on “Send Notification”. Approve the notification on your mobile phone. Alternatively, enter a code from your Authenticator app & enter.
b) If your only option is "Send a text to my mobile number", select the number you would like to use verification and click "Next" and follow the instructions.
6. Enter your new password twice & click "Finish"
7. That is it, you're done!
